Dylon Hand Dye Ocean Blue 26 is a 50g fabric dye designed for hand dyeing smaller clothing items, accessories and textile craft projects. The Ocean Blue shade provides a rich blue colour for refreshing faded fabrics, changing the colour of suitable garments or creating decorative textile designs.

The hand-dye format is particularly suitable for smaller items and fabrics that are not convenient to dye in a washing machine. It can be used for suitable clothing, soft furnishings and craft projects, including tie-dye applications.

The dye is suitable for natural fabrics such as cotton, linen and viscose. Wool and silk can also be dyed, although the resulting colour may be lighter. Polyester, acrylic and nylon fabrics are not suitable for this dye, and fabrics with special water-repellent treatments may not absorb the colour effectively.

Each 50g sachet can dye approximately 250g of textile to a full shade. Larger quantities can be dyed to produce a lighter colour. The final colour is affected by the original fabric colour, material composition and quantity of fabric being treated.

For hand dyeing, weigh the dry fabric, wash it thoroughly and leave it damp. Dissolve the dye in approximately 500ml of warm water, prepare around 6 litres of warm water at approximately 40°C and add 250g of salt. Add the dissolved dye, submerge the fabric and stir regularly during the dyeing process.

After dyeing, rinse the fabric in cold water, wash it in warm water and dry it away from direct heat and sunlight. Thorough cleaning of the fabric and regular stirring during dyeing help achieve an even colour.
