Introducing XGT, a new 40V standalone system; with a new charging adapter to allow the new 40V XGT platform to use the DC40RA charger to charge both the LXT slide-type battery and the new XGT battery, in as little as 28 minutes.

The XGT range of tools and batteries has a built-in program that provides digital communication between the battery and the tool, allowing for the battery not only to talk with the tool but also for the tool to talk to the battery.

The DC40RB is a 240V Twin Port Fast Charger, designed for charging batteries ranging from 14.4V LXT to 40V Max XGT; ADP10 Interchangeable Adapter Set is required (not included) to charge 14.4V and 18V LXT batteries. The DC40RB is not compatible with the G-Series range of batteries. The DC40RB can charge two Makita 40V Max Li-ion XGT batteries at the same time as fast as a DC40RA charger charges one battery. The DC40RB performs consecutive fast charges of batteries for increased convenience and features optimum charging control using feedback from real-time battery data. DC40RB is equipped with large charging status indicator light, a selectable melody sound for full charge notification, two cooling fans; one for the battery and the other for the charging circuit, and an electronic current limiter for overload protection.
