Powered by lithium-ion battery technology, the clipper provides up to 160 minutes of cordless operation following a full 3-hour charge. A 20-minute quick charge can provide approximately 20 minutes of use, making it practical for quick trims when there is limited preparation time. The clipper can also be operated from the mains when required.

The E987U provides extensive cutting-length control. Eight comb guides cover Grades 1 through 8, while the integrated 5-position twist taper control allows additional adjustment.
