Constructed from heavy-gauge carbon steel, the tool is hardened and tempered for strength and chemically blacked for a durable surface finish. Its moulded grip handles provide a more comfortable handhold during repeated use. The five-way design provides several wire preparation functions without requiring multiple separate tools.

The crimping tool handles insulated terminals in 1.5mm², 2.5mm² and 6.0mm² sizes, corresponding to the commonly colour-coded red, blue and yellow terminal ranges. It also crimps non-insulated terminals in 1.5mm², 2.5mm², 4.0mm² and 6.0mm² sizes. Wire stripping positions cover 0.75mm², 1.0mm², 1.5mm², 2.5mm², 4.0mm² and 6.0mm², while the integrated bolt-shearing positions accommodate 2.6mm, 3.0mm, 3.5mm, 4.0mm and 5.0mm bolts.

The kit is supplied in a plastic storage case and contains one terminal plier/crimping tool, 60 insulated crimp terminals and 40 non-insulated crimp terminals.
